It’s a little heavy for its size. They’re in the neighborhood of 3500 lbs. if I remember correctly, which is a lot of weight for a car as small as the Supra (and from the early 90's to boot).

In twin turbo, manual guise it deserves every bit of praise and respect it gets. The 2JZ-GTE, the Getrag V160 and the differential are all nearly indestructable. They don’t even make upgraded internals for the V160. I can’t think of a stronger transmission ever put in a production car.
The auto cars still deserve praise, but are no doubt lesser cars. They’re good, not great, and made of lesser parts. The engine is the same, but the auto isn’t as durable and neither is the differential.
The NA cars? Why the FUCK do people pay like $15,000 for these things!?!? They should be maybe slightly higher than an SC300. They are nothing special. It’s like paying big money for a 3.8 Mustang because ‘03-04 Cobras kick ass.
I will say this though. If you need a long block, the GE has a ton of potential. The block, crank and rods (on the non VVT versions) are just as strong. They just don’t have the piston squirters, have higher compression pistons and a slightly different head. That said, you can get low comp pistons, a TT headgasket, FFIM for the NA head and coil on plug set up from a 7M-GTE to ditch the dizzy. I have a GE block waiting for a home.
